Greetings from LexTech – Centre for Law, Entrepreneurship and Innovation!

We are pleased to announce LexTech's First Article Writing Competition 2024 in collaboration with Nishith Desai Associates as our Associate Sponsor, Vidhi Centre for Legal Policy as our Publication Partner and SCC Times as our Media Partner.

This competition aims to foster discourse and exploration of innovative applications within the intersection of law and technology. Participants are encouraged to delve into diverse aspects of legal technology, such as artificial intelligence, blockchain, cybersecurity, and data analytics, and their implications for the legal landscape.

COMPETITION DETAILS:

Theme: Emerging Areas in Legal Tech and Innovation

Sub-themes:

Navigating the Digital Frontier: Legal Challenges and Solutions in Cross-Border Data Transfers in light of DPDPA.
Decoding Deceptive Design: Evaluating the Impact of India's Dark Patterns Guidelines.
Legal Implications of Deepfakes and AI-generated Content.
RBI's Vision for Digital Lending: A Critical Examination of Guidelines and Challenges in the Indian Context.
Skill vs Chance: An Analysis of the Introduction of 28% GST on Online Gaming in India.
Creator or Creation: The Legal Conundrum of Ownership and Authorship in AI-Generated Art.

Note: These sub-themes are merely illustrative. Submissions need not be restricted to the above-mentioned list as long as they fall within the ambit of the main theme.

Eligibility:

Open to all undergraduate and postgraduate students enrolled in any discipline at a recognized law university, college, or institute.

Co-authorship (maximum 2 authors) and cross-institutional teams are allowed.

Registration Fees:

Single authorship: Rs. 250

Co-authorship: Rs. 400

Timeline:

Registrations open: June 18th, 2024

Registrations close: July 08th, 2024

Last day to submit blogs: July 20th, 2024

Declaration of results: July 29th, 2024 (tentatively)

- Cash prize of Rs. 3000

- Publication on Vidhi's blog post

Ø Runners up

- Opportunity to intern at Vidhi Centre for Legal Policy

- Cash prize of Rs. 2000

Ø 2nd Runners up

- Cash prize of Rs. 1000
