“32nd IDG Guest Session with Mr. Bharat Chugh.”

We are thrilled to announce that our guest lectures have resumed, and for the 32nd IDG session, we are honoured to have Mr. Bharat Chugh, a Supreme Court Counsel, former Partner, and former Judge, as our distinguished guest.

Brief profile of Mr. Bharat Chugh

Mr. Bharat Chugh embarked on his legal journey after graduating in 2011, and swiftly rose to prominence by securing AIR 1 in the Delhi Judicial Service Exam at just the age of  23. He served as a Civil Judge/Metropolitan Magistrate for four years before transitioning back to legal practice in 2016.

He was a partner at L&L Partners, Delhi and is currently practicing as an Independent Counsel, heading the Chambers of Bharat Chugh.

Beyond the Courtroom, he also plays an active role in policy discussions, and was appointed as amicus curiae by Delhi High Court in significant criminal cases. He is also a member of the Young SIAC steering committee, demonstrating his involvement in international arbitration.

A prolific reader and writer, Bharat is also committed to legal education, and has been part of various guest lectures and mentor programmes, including mentoring of professional judges, IPS officers, and corporate counsels. He is deeply engaged in pro bono initiatives, exemplified by his advisory position at Satya: Pro Bono Law.

Theme and format of the session

The theme of the session is “Classes to Courtrooms: Shaping Future Jurists” . The total duration of the session will be of 1 hour and 30 minutes. The guest will speak for one hour. Pursuant to the lecture, we will open the floor for questions from the audience.
