The NLUO Law Journal is the annual flagship, double-blind peer-reviewed publication of National Law University Odisha. The journal is committed to advancing scholarly legal discourse across national, comparative, and international interdisciplinary legal paradigms. It publishes original research addressing critical and emerging developments in law. While thematic special issues have been published previously, the journal actively accepts submissions across diverse legal subjects for its general issues.
First published in 2013, the journal has featured dedicated volumes on topics such as ‘Access to Justice’, ‘Child Rights’, ‘Climate Change’, ‘Distinctive issue on Electoral Laws in India’, and ‘Migration and Human Rights: Issues, Trends and Challenges’. As of 2023, nine volumes have been published and may be accessed through the University Website, SCC Online.
Submissions are invited for Volume XIII, scheduled for publication in August 2027. Authors are requested to adhere strictly to the submission guidelines outlined below.
(All limits are exclusive of footnotes)
*(In case the manuscript exceeds the word limit, the author must provide a justification in the cover letter.)
All manuscripts must be accompanied by an abstract of up to 300 words and a maximum of 5 keywords. No abstract is needed for Book Reviews.
Manuscripts must be original and cannot be under simultaneous consideration with any other publication. Submissions are subjected to similarity screening and will only be considered for peer review if the overall similarity index is below 10%.
Our publication ethics policies are designed to ensure accuracy, transparency, and inclusivity. In addition to the mandates of the submission guidelines, we also align with industry best practice guidelines as defined by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).
We encourage author(s) to familiarize themselves with the policy information on these ethics when preparing articles for submission, and we encourage our journal editors and reviewers to do the same to ensure that submissions being considered for publication meet the ethical standards. Authors will have to make a declaration regarding any ‘Conflict of Interest’ in the Certificate of Originality and Copyright Transfer.
Submit your ‘Manuscript’ and ‘Cover Letter’ through the Google Form.
