The Halls of Residence

National Law University Odisha, Campus has halls of residence for the students admitted to this prestigious institution. There are two dedicated buildings for male students and two buildings dedicated to female students.
Generally, the university allows for single occupancy rooms; however, in order to facilitate interaction, understanding  and to promote mental well- being of our students, the first year students in all the courses are lodged in rooms on sharing basis. This ensures that shy students are able to mingle and that no student feels alone and is left behind. The NLUO hostels are disability friendly.

With the growing success of girls in the competitive examinations and their consequent rise on the merit list, more room for female candidates is being created by building additional hostel space for them. At any given point in time, there are nearly 1000 students on the campus.

The students are provided basic facilities of a bed, almirah, book shelf, table and chair in their rooms. The hostel staff and house-keeping staff is available at all times for the benefit of the students. The Hostel Mess is run by student body and the students have full freedom to choose their desired meals in a democratic manner.

The other facilities available in the hostels are:

  1. Unlimited Wi-Fi service
  2. 24 x 7 Power Backup (Generator)
  3. Laundry Services
  4. Recreation room (with indoor games like table-tennis, carrom, chess etc.)
  5. Indoor playing area for badminton
  6. Cafeteria, Juice stall, Canteen have also been established on campus
  7. Regular pest control services
  8. Regular water quality testing for potability
  9. Regular maintenance of the hostels

The Halls of Residence are sensitive to religious and cultural requirements allowing for celebration of majority of festivals with good food, including provisioning of special meals during illness.
There are medical facilities on campus for the students with a doctor and nurses available at all times to ensure the physical well-being of the students. There is an ambulance with the university for speedy visit to nearest hospitals in case of emergencies.

At NLUO focus on mental health and wellbeing has been at the forefront; thus, there is a counsellor stationed on campus for students; in addition, there is provision for online consultation with counsellors from YOUR-DOST.
