“Recruitment Cordination Committee, NLUO organized a Mock Interview Week.”

17 Jun 2020

Recruitment Cordination Committee, NLUO organized a Mock Interview Week.

The Recruitment Coordination Committee 2016-21(“RCC”) of National Law University Odishahosted a mock interview week, with the assistance of the alumni of the university. The interview week was conducted from 23rd May, 2020 to 31st May, 2020 with an aim to help the students gain a better understanding and insight of the recruitment interviews. The RCC conducted these interviews in various practice areas, including Corporate Law, Litigation, Alternate Dispute Resolution(“ADR”), Competition Law, Banking and Finance, Intellectual Property Rights(“IPR”) and Labor and Employment laws. Apart from this, RCC also organized sessions on careers with Research Think Tanks and Judicial Clerkship, for the interested students. An interview is the most crucial step in the process of securing a job and a candidate needs to be thoroughly prepared for the same. The reason RCC decided to host the interview week was to ensure maximum success for students appearing for such recruitment interviews. With the help of this session, students gained valuable experience with regards to the necessary readings for interviews, basic personality questions, preparation methods and how to approach a technical question.

The Corporate law interviews were taken by Mr. Puneet Passi, Mr. Aditya Rajput, Mr. Adhiraj Gupta, Mr. Abhishek Mour, Ms. HemaPattnaik, Mr. Akash Srinivasan, Ms. AishwaryaSingh and Mr. Anish Jaipuriar. Mr. ChandramauliDwivedi and Mr. Kamal Sharma took the interviews for Competition Law. The Banking & Finance interviews were taken by Ms. Risa Das and the Labour & Employment interviews were taken by Ms. AnjuliMarwah and Ms. ArchitaMohapatra. The Litigation interview were conducted by Mr. NamanBagga, Mr. Pratik Shanu and Mr. NilanjanBhattacharjee. The IPR interviews were taken by Mr. Bijit Das. Ms. Shweta Sahu and Mr. Pranav Budihal interviewed candidates interested in ADR.?Additionally, Ms. AishwaryaMohanty and Ms. PreetiPratishruti Dash gave the students valuable advice on a future career with Research Think Tanks and clarified their doubts regarding application procedures, possible job profiles, etc. The session on Judicial Clerkship had Mr. Sughosh Subramanyam as our panelist. He gave the students a detailed insight on the do’s and don’ts with regards to a clerkship and further, patiently answered all their questions.

The RCC expresses its heartfelt gratitude to all the above-mentioned alumni, who agreed to move around tasks on their busy schedules and assisted us with the mock interviews. They shared their irreplaceable experience with their own firms and other workplaces which helped the students understand the perspective of recruiters. The RCC would also like to thank the Faculty Advisors – Dr. Arjyalopa Mishra and Mr. Mayank Tiwari for their immense support through the week.

We heartily congratulate the RCC Class for their unprecedented enthusiasm to learn and grow.
