Session on “The Role of Students in Legal AI Solutions” 27.08.2024

Human interaction with Artificial Intelligence has gradually increased over a period. The legal profession is not untouched from the recent developments in Artificial Intelligence which has significantly impacted the major stakeholders. Its assistive, facilitatory and agility has benefitted the entire judicial system in numerous ways. To reap out the optimum benefit of Artificial Intelligence by the students of law an online session on “The Role of Students in Legal AI Solutions” was organized by the Centre for Public Policy and Good Governance (CPPLGG), NLUO on 27.08.2024 from 4-5 P.M. Mr. Saurabh Karn who is a founding member of Sarvam AI educated the students about the role of AI in relation to the legal profession.

The Session highlighted various aspects of AI which facilitates legal research, data scrutinization, module development specifically pertaining to cater the needs of legal profession. The session provided an excellent opportunity to the students and faculties to interact with the industry professional who is significantly contributing to the develop AI with specific focus on the Legal Sector. Mr. Karn also highlighted that how AI tools saves time which were earlier spent on mechanical and clerical works related to drafting of Legal Contracts and Agreements and now AI tools provides qualitative assistance to the legal professionals to finish their work in a shorter span of time frame with superlative quality of drafts.

The students, research scholars and faculties of NLUO participated in the session with great enthusiasm and valuable discussion. The students were also inquisitive about the landscape of edtech startups and how the field of law would look like from a futuristic perspective so that necessary skills may be acquired to keep ourselves updated in professional space.
