We here at Informal Discussion Group, NLUO are delighted to inform you that Dr. Bittu Kaveri Rajaraman, Grace Banu and Japleen Pasricha< would be joining the IDG for a webinar as a part of the lecture series conducted by the Informal Discussion Group.
The?heme of the discussion would be on the topic-“Understanding Sex and Gender : An inclusive and intersectional perspective”.<
Their brief profiles are as follows<<-??/p>
Dr. Bittu Kaveri Rajaraman <is an associate professor of Biology and Psychology at Ashoka University. He?as an INSPIRE-faculty at the Central University of Hyderabad. Professor Bittu had received a PhD from Harvard University in neuroscience. A queer activist and a neuroscientist, Professor Bittu has been a tireless advocate for the Dalit and LGBTQ community.?/p>
Grace Banu?is a Dalit and transgender activist. She was the first transgender person to be admitted to an engineering college in Tamil Nadu. She is the founder and director of the TransRightsNow Collective. She is currently raising funds for the trans community.?/p>
Japleen Pasricha?is the founder & editor-in-chief of Feminism in India, an award-winning digital platform for feminist media. She is a writer, educator, campaigner, and a researcher. She has vast experience in digital media and online publishing. She is also a TEDx speaker and a UN World Summit Young Innovator.

Sailabala Pujari Memorial Lecture is organized in the memory of Smt. Late Sailabala Pujari. She was the first woman legal practitioner and APP of western Odisha. She has written more than fifty books on social and legal subjects. During her education she was president of the Sailabala Women’s College Union in Cuttack.
The 3rd Sailabala Pujari Memorial Lecture on “Law, Language and Gender”< will be <delivered< by Hon’ble Justice ( Retd.) Greetings All,
We hope this mail finds you in good health.
We are at a point in time when the faith of the general public in institutions stands at an abyss. This has not failed to include even the Judiciary, in which people had had long-established faith and belief. It is an important moment to start a conversation on how judiciary is and can continue to be a foundational building block of our democracy – both in an attempt to understand the present state of affairs and to offer solutions. Thus, Vidhi Centre for Legal Policy in association with the Kautilya Society at National Law University Odisha brings you is organising a series of conversations titled ‘Conscience Keeper: Judiciary as the Constitutional Guardian’.<?t is a series of?our conversations spread over our?em>Constitutional Law Month. These conversations will address some of the most pressing concerns of our time, including judiciary and constitutional courage, unlawful restriction of free speech, and the nature of federalism in India today, among others.?/p>

The speaker for the session is Mr. Swarnendu Chatterjee<. He is currently serving as Managing Associate at L&L Partners and is a practicing Advocate-on-Record in Supreme Court of India. He appears as a Counsel before NCLT, NCLAT, HCs (Delhi, Madhya Pradesh, Allahabad, Calcutta) and Supreme Court.
