THE CENTRE FOR FILM STUDIES

The Centre for Film Studies was founded to bridge the realms of cinema, academic research, and education. Its core aim is to enrich the scholarly investigation of film and film culture, with a particular emphasis on the intersections between cinema and socio-legal issues. The Centre seeks to foster interdisciplinary dialogue by exploring the links between film, sociology, philosophy, jurisprudence, and law through curated screenings. In addition to supporting academic research through seminars, conferences, and projects on topics such as legislation, judicial reviews, censorship, media law, and film litigation, the Centre also encourages creative engagement. It organises competitions for short films, feature films, and documentaries, making film studies both a stimulating and enjoyable pursuit for students.
