“Centre for Corporate Law (CCL) has concluded a single credit course on ‘Introduction to Private Acquisitions’ from January to April 2023”

About the Event
The Centre for Corporate Law (“CCL“), National Law University Odisha (“the University“) strives to foster and promote practice of imparting practical insights into the field of corporate and allied commercial laws. In pursuance of this, CCL has successfully completed a Single Credit Course on ‘Introduction to Private Acquisitions’ with Mr. Puneet Rathsharma, Partner of KT Advisors LLP and Mr. Akash Srinivasan, Senior Associate at Khaitan and Co. The course was conducted in a hybrid mode over a span of twenty-five (25) teaching hours spread across the months of January to April 2023.
The course was attended by a cluster of 50+ students from 3rd to 5th year of National Law University, Odisha (NLUO). The instructors drew on their vast experience of practicing transactional law to provide a holistic experience to the attendees. Relevant topics including but not limited to term sheet, structuring of a deal, joint ventures agreements, share purchase agreements etc., were discussed with an aim to augment participants’ exposure to the practical aspects of private acquisitions. The attendees will be awarded certificates as well as one credit post their successful evaluation.

About the Guest Instructors
Mr. Puneet Rathsharma is a Partner at KT Advisors LLP. He is an alumnus of West Bengal National University of Juridical Sciences (WBNUJS) and has worked in various law firms including L&L Partners & Khaitan and Co. In the course of his work, he regularly advises companies and financial institutions on various matters of transaction law including mergers, acquisitions and joint venture agreements among others. He has also represented his clients in international commercial arbitration and company law courts.
Mr. Akash Srinivasan is a Senior Associate at Khaitan & Co. He is an alumnus of National Law University, Odisha (NLUO) and throughout his course of five years at law school, he has brought many laurels to the University. These include being the winner of the 3rd Pranita Mehta Memorial Essay Writing Competition (2018), Best Negotiation Plan and Quarter Finalist at 4th HSF NLUD International Negotiation Competition (2017). He has also qualified for the South Asian Rounds of the Oxford Monroe E. Price Media Law Moot Competition (2016-17) among many other achievements.
