She represented the State of West Bengal in the National Khelo India Youth Games. After twelve days of constant hard work and perseverance, she not only had medals to celebrate the victory but also had memories that will cherish for lifetime.
Lawn Bowling is a unique sport introduced in the Khelo India National Games for the first time. It is usually played on a large, rectangular, precisely levelled and manicured grass or synthetic surface known as a bowling green which is divided into parallel playing strips called rinks.
Introduction of this sport made the National Games very diverse and inclusive in nature. This sport is gathering a lot of support in the Indian states due to the atypical and exceptional format.
Prachi says, “‘the experience of representing not just her state but the University and family was truly exhilarating””. She further says that the game helped her to increase her focus and concentration.
Prof. Srikrishna Deva Rao, Vice- Chancellor congratulated her and promised to help her to nurture her talent and interest in the game and facilitate so that she can make the state and the University proud in future events.
