“Celebration of 75th Independence Day at NLU Odisha.”

National Law University Odisha celebrated 75th Independence Day in its Campus. On the morning of 15th August 2021, faculty members and non-teaching staff gathered in front of the administrative block adhering to all safety protocols for Covid-19 to celebrate the 75th Independence Day. The tricolour was hoisted by the hon’ble Vice Chancellor of the University Prof. (Dr.) Ved Kumari to pay respects to the motherland and homage to all great souls who made sacrifices during the freedom movement. Hon’ble Vice Chancellor addressed the gathering where she reminded everyone the fundamental meaning of independence and emphasized to give equal rights to the girl child, treat them equally and keep ourselves refrain from the existing superstition and myth which are connected with girls, and urged to make ourselves free from the mindset where women are confronted by discrimination and inequality. She spoke about the steps being taken at the university to improve the medical and other facilities.
The event then followed by a cultural programme virtually organised by the cultural committee of the University where students showcased some outstanding and magnificent performances and the audience joined physically and virtually were spellbound looking at their exhibition of talents. At the end of the cultural event everyone sang together “Sare jahan se achha Hindustan Hamara”
A Security guard Mr.Kartik Behera was rewarded as Best Guard for the quarter by the Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor with a certificate of appreciation which is introduced by the Security Organisation GDX??n the recommendation of NLUO.
