This Diwali, the IDIA Odisha Chapters’ Legal Services Team organized an event to celebrate the housekeeping staff of our university, who do so much to keep our college spick and span. The event named, ‘Asha ra Jyoti,’ meaning Lights of Hope, was conducted on October 23, 2022. The event was a great success and the afternoon was filled with music, smiles, and laughter.?The student body put-up an amazing show, with their wonderful display of dances, singing performances, and plays.
The event started with cultural performances and was followed by games for the housekeeping fraternity and staff. A play titled, ‘Nithalle ki Diary,’ was put on by the students about a young man and his everyday adventures. Students danced to Sambalpuri and other Odia folk songs. In addition, there were a couple of lovely singing performances. The staff appreciated and thoroughly enjoyed the performances and the room was filled with cheering and applause. After the performances by the students, a game of musical chairs was played which filled the room with joy and laughter. Prizes were also given to the top 3 winners in the game.
Snacks and refreshments were provided at the end for all the masis and volunteers. The event for the staff served as an escape from their busy routines and a celebration for those who work hard all year round.
