Dr. Warren P. Burke (United States House of Representatives, Office of the Legislative Counsel, Senior Attorney), a Fullbright Specialist, visited in the academic year 2022-2023 from January 2023 to February 2023 to collaboratively teach the course on Public Health Law to 3rd year undergraduate students of BALLB and BBALLB at National Law University Odisha

Experience:

• United States House of Representatives, Office of the Legislative Counsel, Senior Attorney  (Washington, D.C. 1999-present) Render nonpartisan legal analysis and drafting services to Members and Committees of the House at all stages of the legislative process. Areas of concentration include food, drugs, medical devices, public health, and clean air.
• D.C. Bar Association, Instructor (Washington, D.C. 2018-present) Co-teach an annual evening CLE course on statute and regulation drafting.
• National Democratic Institute, Instructor (Monrovia, Liberia 2013) Conducted a 2-week workshop to train and increase the professional capacity of the legislative drafting services of the Liberian House and Senate
• Graduate School, USDA, Instructor (Washington, D.C. 2008-2016) Taught a course in Federal legislative drafting and procedure.
• U. S. District Court, Eastern District of Louisiana, The Honorable Edith Brown Clement (New Orleans, LA 1997-1999) Judicial Clerk. Researched and drafted opinions, jury charges, jury interrogatories, and voir dire; assisted with daily docket management and settlement conferences.
