About Dr. Bhatt Ravi

Dr. Ravi Bhatt is an Assistant Professor at National Law University Odisha, Cuttack. Prior to this, he worked with VIT Bhopal University and Lovely Professional University. He completed his Ph.D. from Dr. H.S.Gaur Central University in Sagar, Madhya Pradesh, on the topic “Buddhism, Marxism, and Postmodernism: A Study in relation to the configuration of Knowledge, Experience, and Reality”. With over 15 years of teaching experience across various institutions, he has specialised in English Language and Literature, and also served as a CEC-UGC Course presenter in the development of UGC MOOCs. He has published more than 15 papers in national and international journals, with his expertise spanning in Buddhist Literature, Marxist Literature, Postmodernism, ESL, and Soft Skills Training. He has successfully guided two M.A. dissertations on Comparative Literature and Postmodernist Literature, respectively, and has qualified various exams, including UGC-NET, MP-SET, and MH-SET. Additionally, he has organised various conferences and workshops, and has conducted numerous sessions and webinars on Soft Skills Training and Development. He has been invited to speak at various universities and colleges on a range of topics. About Dr. Mrinalini Banerjee

Dr. Mrinalini Banerjee is currently an Assistant Professor at National Law University, Odisha (NLUO), having previously taught at Gujarat National Law University (GNLU), Gandhinagar. She completed her undergraduate studies in International Law Honors at KIIT School of Law, followed by a Masters in Transnational Law at King’s College London, where she received the Goodenough Commonwealth Scholarship for the 2016-2017 session. Dr. Banerjee earned her PhD from Gujarat National Law University, focusing on the legal rights of climate refugees. She also undertook additional academic courses at SOAS, University of London, and participated in the summer school at The Hague Academy of International Law. She has successfully qualified the UGC-NET and AIBE exams. Dr. Banerjee has been recognized with numerous grants, projects, and scholarships. In 2020-2021, she served as a researcher at The Hague Academy of International Law, where she was the only Indian among 34 participants worldwide. She also undertook a consultancy project in Environmental Law in 2021 and received project funding from NUJS Kolkata and NLUO. Dr. Banerjee has been awarded grants from the Asian Development Bank in 2016, along with scholarships from the Global Alliance for Justice Education (GAJE) in 2019 and 2022, and the IUCN Academy of Environmental Law in 2019. Her scholarly contributions are extensive and have been published in various indexed journals.

About Dr. Mayank Mishra

Dr. Mishra is a graduate of HNLU, Raipur (2010), thereafter he pursued his post graduation from NLSIU, Bangalore in Corporate Laws (2012). Having deep interest in the field of Energy Policies and Laws Dr. Mishra pursued his Ph.D. in Energy Efficiency Governance from NLU, Jodhpur which was awarded in 2021. Dr. Mishra also possesses practicing experience of over 8 Years at Jharkhand High Court along with other Civil Courts and forums situated within the territorial limits of Jharkhand State. While working as a Legal Practitioner, Dr. Mishra was also associated with Indian Institute of Coal Management (IICM) as a visiting faculty to deliver lectures on various facets of laws including contract labour abolition laws, service laws, right to information laws, information technology laws. Before joining NLUO, Dr. Mishra was working as an Assistant Professor (Law) at UPES, School of Law (Dehradun) where he was teaching papers related to Energy Laws and Securities Laws.

Dr. Akshay Verma is a certified mediator and an Assistant Professor of Law, who joined National Law University Odisha in December 2021. Prior to this, he worked as a Guest Faculty in Law Centre-II, Faculty of Law, University of Delhi from September 2018 to April 2021.

Dr. Verma completed his Ph.D. in 2023, from Faculty of Law, University of Delhi. His research work examines the successes and pitfalls of the current arbitration system in India and explores the possibility of introducing a hybrid-arbitration mechanism for effective dispute resolution. Dr. Verma is a firm believer in ‘learning by doing’, and thus offers a purely clinical course on Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) at the University, along with other subjects like Law of Evidence, Law of Crimes, Law of Contracts, Personal Laws, etc. He is the founding member of NLUO Mediation Cell which is India’s first higher education institution run mediation cell. Further, he is also the Project Coordinator for Project KUTUMB, NLUO which has the primary objective of betterment of village children vis-à-vis education, health and well-being.

About Dr. Sudatta Barik

Sudatta Barik has always been a librarian in her methods to adapt herself to the ever increasing volumes of knowledge in the vast field of law. Having completed her B.A.LL.B (Hons) from Madhusudan Law College, Cuttack, Odisha and Masters in Law from Hidayatullah National Law University, Raipur, Chhattisgarh. She is currently pursuing her Ph.D from National Law University Odisha, Cuttack .Before joining NLUO, she was practicing as Advocate at Orissa High Court as well as working as Visiting Faculty at Madhusudan Law College, Cuttack, and Odisha. Since the beginning of 2014, She has shifted her focus from practicing law to a fresh genre of teaching at the National Law University Odisha, Cuttack as a Research Associate cum Teaching Assistant. She has served at various offices of law with good credentials at work, both as an intern and employee. Having a fetish for acquiring as much practical experience as possible, She has juggled between various offices of renowned law firms of both state and the nation. She has attended innumerable court proceedings before the Orissa High Court, High Court of Delhi, Patiala House Court, New Delhi and the Supreme Court of India and Lower Courts and Tribunal too. Subjects Taught: Political Theory, International Relations Shubhanginee Singh is a PhD scholar at the Centre for Political Studies, Jawaharlal Nehru University. Her research interests lie at the intersection of state, citizenship, and border studies. She was previously teaching at Dr B.R. Ambedkar National Law University Sonipat. During this tenure, she has taught courses on Political Theory, Indian politics, Indian Political Thought, and International Relations. About Dr. Ankeeta Gupta

Ankeeta Gupta is a Ph.D scholar at Faculty of Law, University of Delhi and has a teaching experience of over 5 years. During this tenure she has taught various subjects including Law of Contract, Law of Tort, Law of Industrial Relations, and laws relating to companies, white collar crimes etc. Ms. Gupta is an alumnus of National Law School of India University, Bangalore having completed her Masters in Business Laws from the prestigious Institute. She has completed her BA.LLB(Hons) from Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, Delhi. Ms. Gupta is an avid writer with book on Chit Funds and publications on various subjects to her credit.

About

Dr. Sohini Mahapatra is an Assistant Professor of Law having joined the university in 2017. An alumnus of the university Dr. Mahapatra completed her Masters in Law from NLUO in 2014 where she was awarded the University Gold Medal for securing the First Rank in LL.M. She completed her Ph.D. in 2018, with specialization in Animal Welfare Law, making her the first person in the country with a Ph.D. in the field of animal law. She completed her B.A.LL.B. from Amity Law School, Amity University, NOIDA, in 2012, where she was awarded Merit Scholarship by Amity University for Academic Performance (2010-11 and 2009-10). She began her teaching career, in 2015, at the English Language Lab of Shailabala Women’s College. Her areas of research, interest and teaching are Media Law, Labour Law and Animal Law.
