“Press Release – VIRAJ/ KAIRAAN Opening Ceremony – 2023”

National Law University, Odisha, is proud to commence two of its flagship events – VIRAJ, our Annual Sports Fest and KAIRAAN, our Annual Cultural Festival.?/span>

VIRAJ and KAIRAAN will be held from April 6th to April 9th 2023, at the NLUO campus in Cuttack, Odisha.?/span>

VIRAJ, our Annual Sports fest, is a platform for young athletes to showcase their skills and sportsmanship. This year, we have over 500 participants from 30 contingents who will be competing in various sports events. The four-day sports fest will witness some of the most exciting sports events, including Swimming, Athletics, Badminton, Cricket, Football, Volleyball, Basketball, Kabaddi, Chess, and many other sports.?/span>

Inclusive sports are a vital part of VIRAJ, and we are delighted to provide a platform for differently-abled athletes to showcase their talent and compete at the highest level through PARA VIRAJ, for all our specially abled participants.?/span>

VIRAJ is not just a sports fest, but it’s a celebration of sportsmanship, community and diversity. In the spirit of our motto ‘Victory Awaits the Champion’, we invite everyone to come and witness the fun and be a part of these exciting events.?/span>

KAIRAAN is a platform for college students to showcase their talent in different cultural fields. This year, we have close to 3000 students from various colleges in Odisha. These institutes include NIFT, NISER, IIT Bhubaneswar, KIIT University, and Sri Sri University, among others. The event will witness some of the most exciting cultural events, including dance, fashion shows, singing, band performances, and other fun events for students and staff. We also have Tarang – a Talent Show lined up for the specially-abled, where they will showcase their talent through different art forms.?/span>

The theme for KAIRAAN 2023 is “Y2K Panic at the Disco!” and all events will inculcate the theme. KAIRAAN is proudly sponsored by Mahanadi Coalfields, Jindal Steel, Bank of Baroda, and Rajasthani Namkeen. Food partners for KAIRAAN are Asiatic Kitchen, Petit Four, Chai Break, and Rolling Crunchies. KAIRAAN 2023 promises to be an exciting and memorable event, and we invite everyone to come and be a part of it.
