Abut Dr. Upasana Borthakur

Upasana Borthakur, is an independent researcher and a freelancer in the field of sociology. She obtained her MA degree from Delhi School of Economics, Delhi University and PhD from IGNOU, New Delhi. She was formerly working as an Assistant Professor in Sociology in Galgotias University, Greater Noida, UP where she taught Industrial Sociology to the B. Tech students and also sociology to honours students. She was awarded from former Chief Minister of Delhi, Mrs Shiela Dixit, for securing highest marks in sociology in graduation from Delhi University. Her areas of interests include gender and work, family, industrial sociology and new reproductive technologies. She has written research papers on various topics and also authored chapters for around 4 edited books which were published by Concept Publishing House and DVS Publishers. Dr Upasana Borthakur regularly presents papers at seminars and conferences in India.
