Short Biography

Mr. Mukil studied law at the Government Law College, Coimbatore and received B.A. B.L. from the Tamil Nadu Dr. Ambedkar Law University, Chennai in 2005. He earned his master’s degree in law from the National University of Juridical Sciences (NUJS), Kolkata in 2008. He has interned at the Securities and Exchange Board of India, Mumbai, and the Planning Commission, Government of India, New Delhi. His LLM dissertation, entitled “Compensation, Securities and Stakeholding The Way Forward”, dealing with the Land Acquisition (Amendment) Bill, 2007 and the Rehabilitation and Resettlement Bill, 2007 on issues pertaining to acquisition of land by the State for industrial development, was written under the guidance and supervision of Prof. Mahendra P. Singh, the then Vice-Chancellor of NUJS. His research interest is in the areas of Corporate Laws including Regulation of Capital Markets, Corporate Restructuring and Corporate Insolvency, International Trade Law, Competition Law and the interface between Public and Private Laws. His working papers are available at http://ssrn.com/author_id=1621164. Prior to joining NLUO, he was a Junior Lecturer at NUJS, Kolkata, and Lecturer in Law at the KIIT Law School, Bhubaneswar. At NLUO, he had taught the Law of Contract I and II, Corporate Laws I and II (all Compulsory Courses), Corporate Finance, Securities and Derivatives Laws, Corporate Governance, International Carriage of Goods by Sea (all Honours Courses) and Competition Law and Policy (Honours/Optional course). Currently he teaches Corporate Insolvency and Mergers and Acquisitions (both Honours Courses). He has been the Faculty Advisor of the Moot Society since the inception of the University in July, 2009 to June, 2013. He was the Chief Warden / Provost of the University from July, 2012 to March, 2014. He is pursuing his Ph.D. in Corporate Laws in the National Law School of India University, Bengaluru. He has presented papers in national and international seminars and conferences. During graduation he was a keen mooter and NSS volunteer. He is also interested in acting and holds a Certificate in Acting from the South India Film Institute, Chennai.
